Dorrace Gatlin's Obituary
Graveside services for Dorrace Hamrick Gatlin of Tyler, formerly of Dallas, will be held at Restland in Dallas on Tuesday, November 29 at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Gatlin passed away on November 27 in Tyler. She was born April 12, 1923 in Lindale to Rev. and Mrs. Newton Vinson Hamrick. She attended Smith County schools, Incarnate Word College and graduated a registered nurse from Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio. She married J B Gatlin in 1947 and they lived in Dallas fifty-four years until he passed away in 2006. She is survived by a brother, Owen Hamrick of Tyler and a sister Marilyn Searcy of Oklahoma City, and by cherished friends Margaret and don Hawkes, Delcie Fleming, Marilyn MacRae and Betty Blackwell of Dallas, and Louise Vincent of Kerrville. Her family expresses profound gratitude to The Hamptons in Tyler for the love and care they gave her since 2006.
