Dortha Vernon Scoles' Obituary
Scoles, Dortha V. (McCord) was born May 20, 1926 in Wright City, Oklahoma and passed away May 2, 2015 in Plano, Texas. Preceded in death by her husband, Fred V. Scoles; parents, Bessie Jane McCord and Andrew Mitchell McCord, Sr.; grandson, Andrew Ryan Zorn; brother, Andrew McCord, Jr.; sister, Naomi McCord. Survived by her twin brother, Don McCord; daughter, Susan Tadlock; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Jeff Dombrosky; grandson and granddaughter-n-law, Casey and Sarah Zorn; grandson, Randy Zorn; and granddaughter, Samantha Zorn. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 12:30 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, Texas 75243. Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boles Childrens Home, American Cancer Society , American Diabetes Association or Dayspring ALF. The family would like to thank all the wonderful, caring staff of Senior Select Home Health Services, Dayspring Assisted Living and Amity Hospice. Dortha was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, nurse and friend. Her smile will be missed by all. Dortha graduated from Oklahoma University as a Registered Nurse. She married Fred Scoles, November 7, 1948 and moved to Texas. She worked at Wysong Hospital in McKinney as a floor nurse and ER nurse until her retirement. She and Fred owned Magnolia House Antique store in Plano, Texas. She was a member of Plano East Church of Christ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
