Dr. Douglas William Johnson's Obituary
Douglas William Johnson was born in Houston, Texas, on September 28, 1951, and passed away suddenly on July 21, 2018.Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Lawrence Johnson and Doris Johnson, and his daughter, Madison Renee.He is survived by the love of his life, Pamela Sims Johnson, their wonderful children, Tyson, Paige and Landry, his siblings, Joyce and Steve Burr, Dr. Charles Johnson, Stephen Johnson and Barbara McCoy.He spent his childhood in Houston before moving to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he attended Tulane University and Tulane University Medical School. He graduated in 1977 and subsequently returned to Texas for his anesthesiology residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital. He joined Dallas Anesthesiology Associates in 1981 and was in practice until his untimely death.Doug enjoyed the outdoors and driving his tractor, had a strong affinity for dogs and any activity that involved his children and family.We will miss his kind and generous spirit and loving friendship.The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home with his memorial service on Friday, July 27 at 2:30pm at Restland Memorial Chapel.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Madison OR Education Fund at Baylor Scott & White or the ASPCA.
