Douglas Edwin Pennington went home to see his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 10. Douglas; known to most by Doug, was the youngest of 2 sons, born to Thomas Edward Pennington and Patricia Ann Helms on the 25th of July 1963 in Lubbock, Texas. He grew up primarily in McAllen, Texas, a graduate of McAllen High School. He went on study Business at Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) where he earned a Bachelors in Business Administration. He spent 30+ years as a Sales Executive, primarily in the Hi-Tech industry.He is survived by his only child; Sophia Grace Pennington, 13 years. He was her biggest cheerleader, beyond proud of her accomplishments. He could frequently be found at her dance competitions and casting auditions. He was equally proud of his only sibling; Dirk Pennington (Laurie Atkins Pennington), always the first to share his accomplishments with friends and family. He also leaves behind 1 nephew; Brandon Keith Pennington, 2 nieces; Heather Nicole Pennington and Meagan Patricia Pennington and 3 cousins. He loved his nieces, nephews and cousins very much, always sharing their milestones with friends.Doug was known for his big heart, gentle spirit and bigger than life personality. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh more than anything. He will be greatly missed.The family will receive friends and loved ones at Restland Memorial Park, Wildwood Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas on Saturday, April 28th at 3:30 pm. A reception will be held immediately following on the grounds of Restland
