Douglas Alexander Emmanuel Wynn of Wylie, Texas born June 27, 1957, to the union of Rev. Willie Grays Wynn and Ophal Jean Ferguson-Wynn in Pine Bluff, AR passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026.
Douglas attended the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff following graduation in 1975 from Watson Chapel school district. He came to know God for himself while attending St. John AME Church of Pine Bluff. He served in the US Air Force from February 1978 until March of 1984. In 1989 he began his 31-year career at Texas Instruments which brought him to Texas from which he retired in 2020. He became a member of St. Luke AME in Garland, TX in 2008 where he met the love of his life, Carleen.
Douglas was a man known for his strength, presence, and the quiet impact he made on those around him. Throughout his life, he carried himself with dignity and resilience, leaving a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be remembered for his character, his wisdom, and the way he showed up for others. Whether through conversation, guidance, or simply being present, Douglas had a way of making people feel seen and valued.
Douglas’s legacy lives on in the memories he created and the lives he touched. His absence will be deeply felt, but his influence and spirit will remain with those who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father Rev. Willie Grays Wynn, his mother Ophal Jean Ferguson-Wynn, sisters Gwendalyn Marks and LaTrenda Jackson, his son Douglas Alexander Emmanuel Wynn Jr. (Melinda), He is survived by his wife Carleen Wynn, brothers, Willie Gene Wynn and Xavier Wynn (Sheryl). Daughters Tanya Wynn ( Marquis ) Sarah Wynn, Alicia Turner, sons Jordan Wynn, Julian Wynn, Donny Medford Jr. (Shanta), Earnest Withers (brother in law), 8 grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
