Doyle Wayne McCann's Obituary
Doyle Wayne McCann was called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on December 24, 2025. Doyle died peacefully in his sleep due to complications related to dementia.
Born on November 3, 1941, in Longview, Texas, Doyle and family eventually moved to the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas where he attended S.S. Connor High School before joining the military. Following his military service, Doyle spent his early career as a manager for M.E. Moses Company before owning and operating a wholesale tropical fish business in Frisco, TX, supplying companies such as Woolworth, M.E. Moses, Ben Franklin and various retail and pet supply stores throughout Texas and beyond. Later in his career, Doyle was a sales manager for various companies in the printing business earning numerous awards for his performance.
Doyle was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, wit, warmth, and outgoing nature. He had a rare gift of befriending anyone he met.
Doyle was very passionate about the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing where he shared his passion and knowledge with his family and friends. Every year, you would find Doyle along with his family and friends vacationing at Lake Sam Rayburn, where some serious fishing took place. The event was held twice a year and continued for decades.
Doyle is preceded in death by his father, Feemster (“Mack”) McCann and mother, Nina Ruth McCann, and daughter, Denise (“Deanie”) McCann. He is survived by his wife, Alice McCann of Cash, TX, son, Todd McCann of Fort Worth, TX, step daughter Glenda Hallman Head of Galveston, TX, sister, Edna Allemore of Chandler, TX, sister Diane Watson of San Antonio, TX, brother Mike McCann of Chandler, TX, brother, Mark McCann of Flint, TX, as well as his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 14th, at 1:00pm at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Tx. Following visitation will be the funeral service at 2:00pm.
