Dr. Reginald Bennett Trentham, MD's Obituary
Reginald Bennett Trentham was born June 9.1943 in Washington Heights, NY and passed away on February 14, 2023. He attended All Hallows High School then earned a masters degree in Nuclear Engineering from NYU.
While working a summer job at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, he realized that his calling was in medicine. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate NY. He married Mary Lynn Myslik of Bayside, NY on December 23, 1967.
He completed an internship at Indiana University Medical Center in 1971. and then his 4yr surgical residency at UT Southwestern-Parkland in 1975. He opened his practice in 1975 and became the first surgeon at Plano General Hospital(Medical City Plano) where he practiced for 30 years. He was also on the staff of Richardson Hospital and Medical City Dallas.
In 2005 Reg and Lynn moved to McAlester OK where he was on the staff of McAlester Regional Medical Center.. In 2009 he moved back to Richardson and not ready to retire yet, he worked locum tenens for 5 more years before finally retiring.
He and Lynn spent their retirement traveling to many parts of the world, checking off each place on his bucket list.
Reg was a devout Catholic who enjoyed Latin mass from his early days as an altar boy at Incarnation Grammar School and attended mass at both Cistercian and Mater Dei. He was an avid model airplane builder and reader of mostly non-fiction, particularly books about history, philosophy and science.h
Reg was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Reginald Oliver Trentham and Mary Katherine Trentham (Hawkins) and his younger brothers Ken and Phil.
Surviving him are his wife of 55 years, Lynn, his son Tim and daughter Elise of Austin and three grandchildren: Henry, Lily & Miles.
