Duane Paul Powers, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in Garland, Texas. He was born on Sunday, November 7, 1937, to his parents, Lewis Calvin Powers and Elsie Margaret Breeding in Pittsburg, Kansas. Duane will be sincerely missed by his loving family, his devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.Duane spent 23 years in the Air Force, retiring on Nov 30, 1982 as a Lt. Col. He joined E-Systems in Dec ’82, where he worked until his retirement in August 2010. He loved baseball, square and round dancing, and clogging.He is survived by his wife Marilyn Powers , Garland, Texas, son Gary Powers, daughters Patti (Joe) Hebert, Paula Powers all of Sachse, TX, grandchildren Taylor, Riley, Joey, Sam and Kaci, great grandchildren Aydin, Tristan and Emmalynn.He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Powers, his granddaughter Lyndi Grace Hebert, and his brother, Patrick Powers.Visitation for Duane will be held prior to funeral service on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 1:30 PM to 2:00. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church 801 W. Avenue D.
