Duane Standlee's Obituary
Duane C. Standlee, 79, of Richardson, TX, passed away on October 2, 2017 in Plano, TX with his wife by his side. He was born on September 24, 1938 in Longview, TX to Doyle and Sybil Standlee. Duane married Patricia Smith on December 29, 1961 in Dallas, TX. He worked in Hydraulic Sales and was also in the United States Army from 1957-1960. He is survived by his wife Pat Standlee and daughters Robin Hanks and Tracy Rankin. He is preceded in death by his father Doyle Standlee and mother Sybil Standlee. Duane attended Highland Park High School where he met the love of his life Pat Smith. They were married for 56 loving years. They were blessed with 2 daughters Robin Hanks and Tracy Rankin, a son in law Mike Hanks, 4 beautiful granddaughters Abbey Ashcraft, Paige Hanks, Mali and Kersty Rankin, grandson in law Jeremy Ashcraft, and great grandson Landon. He adored Pat and “all of his girls”. He loved nothing more than to watch them compete. Whether it is soccer or cheer-leading, he was their biggest fan. Duane was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He was also a fierce competitor at the poker table. He loved traveling with Pat and had many friends. Duane loved dogs, cats, and to share a good glass of wine with anyone willing to sit and sip awhile. Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Spring Valley United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers make a donation to Spring Valley United Methodist Church at 7700 Spring Valley Road, Dallas, TX 75254 or Stray Dog Rescue at PO Box 1465, Gun Barrel City, TX 75147.
