Dwight McAnally's Obituary
Dwight McAnally died peacefully surrounded by family at home on May 6th in Plano, Texas at the age of 93. Dwight is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dr. Billie McAnally, daughters Linda Miller and husband Ronnie Miller, Ginger Morgan and Coralyn McAnally, three granddaughters, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandsons, and many loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandson James Dwight Miller.Dwight was born on March 19, 1926 in Dallas to Dwight and Iris McAnally. He graduated from SMU with a B.A. and an MBA degree. He had a long and successful career as an investment banker with long-time friend and business partner, Don Harris. He retired in 1994 and enjoyed the beauty of New Mexico before returning to Dallas in 2014.Dwight was accomplished at many hobbies including flying, sailing and photography and enjoyed traveling the world with his wife. His main joy in life came from his wife and family. He was a sweet, gentle, compassionate man that taught his love of books, the arts and nature’s beauty to his children and grandchildren. He was also a volunteer for the Small Business Administration and advocate for the protection and rescue of all animals.Graveside services will be held Friday, May 10th at 10:00 AM at Restland Memorial Park, officiated by Reverend Donald Kanter of the First Unitarian Church. There will be a reception following the service.The family would like to thank Dr. Cheirif, Dr. Donna Casey, Dr. Luu, and the staff of Vitas Healthcare for all of their care and support of Dwight and the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to the SPCA or First Unitarian Church of Dallas.
