Dylan, I love you like my own brother. You will be greatly missed. You were far too good for this world. Watch over your Momma, Daddy and brothers… They need you to bring peace and understanding to their hearts. All my love baby boy!
Lit a candle in memory of Dylan Lee Spaid
Dylan, In the past days I have heard and read your name more than I had your entire existence. All around me family, friends and too many strangers to count. In somber silence, in anger, in pain, in rage, in disgust, in despair and even, in happy tones. I hear friends share how lost they feel without you, but how your words stay with them. Words like "stay strong", "have courage", "don't give up", "get back to work" and "it's not that hard", "keep going". I see Strangers learning of your goodness, honesty, compassion, dedication and lust for life and I have seen them share the beauty of your life with the world. Family rallying around each other in love because that's what you would have wanted for them to do. A father pushing through the pain because he knows his son admired his strength. A mother fighting through the tears with the same compassion you had, bringing comfort to others in her time of pain. Brothers bonding together showing courage and dedication by being there for your friends. I see your face, that smile, at the house, down the alley, around the corner, on television, in social media, every place I go, that you have been, there you are. And as I wallow in the sadness of your loss I realize that what I'm seeing is your reflection. In the family, in your friends and, yes, even in the strangers it's been you I see. Your light, your love for life, your spirit, resonates through each and every one of these people. And it has brought me joy to realize Dylan, that this is how you will live on. Through us all. Through the love and life you shared with each one of us individually. We have all learned something from you. And though you are not here any longer. Through us, the ones you have touched, the world will see your reflection and you will live on. Lost but never forgotten. Love, Aunt Misty
