Earl R. Anderson's Obituary
Earl R. Anderson, born June 2, 1923 in Odin, Illinois to Chester and Helen Anderson. Joined the Army during World War II and served as a dog trainer and an artillery instructor at Fort Benning, Georgia. Retired from the Army Reserves as a Lt. Col. He met Sarah Kirk at a church picnic in Georgia and they married on April 25, 1944 in Phoenix City, AL. He loved golf, wood carving, square dancing with Sarah, and he and Sarah were actively involved in Volksmarch. He was a member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, and served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He served as a Guardian Ad Litem, and worked tirelessly for White Rock Center of Hope. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Chandra Anderson; and brother, David P. Anderson. The visitation for Earl will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 6-8pm at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Earl will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 10:30am at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, with a 12:30pm interment at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to White Rock Center of Hope.
