Earl Leonard Brannon's Obituary
Earl “Bud” Leonard Brannon was born in Shepherd, Texas on June 29th, 1929. He graduated from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas and married the love of his life Mary Wylene Chamness on June 24th, 1950. After serving his country in the Army overseas Bud came back to Dallas to start a family and begin his career. Bud and Wylene had three children, Leonard, Deanne, and Keith, all of which he was very proud of. He began his career at the Reynolds & Reynolds printing company in 1956 where he was honored as the National Employee of the Year and served faithfully there 38 years until he retired. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of his life. He had 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson. He was known by them most affectionately as “Pepa”. Bud had many loves, but none greater than his wife Wylene. They were married in 1950 and never looked back. They have been a wonderful example to all who have known them. He also loved fast pitch softball and he was one of the best! He even beat the famed King and His Court in their heyday! He pitched with the best of them well into his fifties! Bud spent many years coaching little league and investing in his children and many more that weren’t his. He also loved to fix things and work with wood. He had a natural gift to repair anything from cars to woodwork and, speaking of woodwork, many of his friends and family have treasured examples of the beautiful pieces he refinished and rebuilt. But, of all the things he loved, Bud loved people. Time would fail us to number and mention all the lives that have been touched by his love. He was the most caring, faithful and dependable husband/father/friend anyone could ask for. Bud would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was the definition of a giver. He was so kind. Bud did not know how to hold a grudge. He was the essence of patience and forgiveness. Bud’s legacy is written all over the lives of the people he has left behind. It would be difficult to find a man who has made a larger cumulative impact on this world. If a man is measured by his legacy, then Earl “Bud” Brannon is a giant among men! Visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Victory Assembly Church in Carrollton, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Victory Assembly Church in Carrollton, TX. Burial will be held on Monday, January 23 , 2017 at 9:15 AM at the DFW National Cemetery.
