LaWanda and family....so sorry to hear about Earl. What a guy.....I have known him and LaWanda since 1979....when a group from Atlas would go to happy hours and eat dinner on appetizers.. I worked with Earl on several computer projects. Many "meetings" at Benihanas, or learning the cork trick at project team dinners. He was always smiling, thinking, talking, planning, being creative and a joy to be around.
One of the most unique things he planned for an Atlas Meeting was "night golf" at the McKinney Country Club. Always thinking out of the box. And music was always on.....him singing "Merry Christmas Baby" at parties, "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Gloria".
He will be missed. Prayers and condolences to all the family!

I’m going to miss my Longhorn buddy in the office and in life. Earl’s smile and laugh always brightened up the room and everyone’s day. I know you’ll be watching the games from a new vantage point now & hope you’re able to pull a few strings & negotiate a few more games in the win column. Keep smiling my friend & keep a few good seats open until we meet again.

In reading the orbituary, need to add what a humble man he is. Did not realize how talented and accomplished he was. Did not speak much about himself. I know he always made one feel comfortable, accepted and genuinely made one feel at ease and “at home”. He enthusiastically promoted “Sixto Diaz Rodriguez”, whom we had never heard of. That “Sugarman” album played in our household ever after. He wanted everyone to be a Texas Longhorn fan and so generously donated a soft cooler to us, with their name. Whenever we use it, people ask “I did not know you were a Longhorn Fan”
Earl and LaWanda shared their lake home with us and took us on a tour. Earl humoursly spoke of the lake and how it was always supposed to be “level”...a selling point in buying the lake home. That was not the case, and we lovingly sent him a “Rain Stick” to aid him in that endevour”. May he soar into the realms of eternity and have experiences to share when we all meet again.
Our hearts are broken, you left us too soon. We will miss you but are blessed to have so many memories that we will cherish forever.

Michael and I were shocked and saddened to learn of Earl's passing. Our sincere condolences go out to you and your family.
Earl was a great boss & mentor to me and I will always remember the great times we all had at the many Atlas parties where ET was always the life of the party.
He will be missed by many and remembered fondly always.

Known this guy since 5th grade! Best dancer at Ms Finley’s and continued to be a great dancer and guitar player and great water skier. Helped get me through all math classes in high school. Always there for his kids, Dub and Wendi and Kate, if they could get him to quit talking !! I was sort of a pain to him, I know, but he was tolerant and generous when I acted out!
After we divorced, he met Lawanda. One of the kindest, sweetest, giving, understanding, and strongest woman I know. Earl loved his family unconditionally and was ready to give them advice anytime they needed it and sometimes when they didn’t!
We will always miss this fine man and comforted by knowing that he is now with his Mom, Sally and his daughter,Kate
This is a very hard hit to everyone who knew this remarkable man. A big, big loss.
Being in the explosives business Earl was my account executive & go to guy for any service I needed for so many years and he delivered in spades. I remember the Texas AGA dinners & hospitality suites Earl invited me to @ ISEE Conferences. Always a pleasure attending as Earl made sure everyone was having fun- of course he was the life of any occasion!
I will always remember when Earl volunteered to make a personal call to the SAE fraternity recommending my son for membership when he began college. So thoughtful and kind.
To LaWanda and Earl's family please know my heart hurts at Earl's passing. He was not only a business associate but a great friend. Earl and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
