Earl Ivory Tillery's Obituary
TILLERY, EARL IVORY Born August 1, 1916 in Dallas, TX to Lucille Kent Tillery and Lon Garrett Tillery went home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 21, 2012. He was a graduate of Forest Avenue High School in 1934. He later married Charlene Deal Tillery on February 18, 1939. He served in WWII in the 2nd Battalion 35th Infantry, serving in the Philippines during the Baton Death March, Guadalcanal, and Hiroshima, Japan. He captured an enemy tank fighting on Luzon with the 25th (Tropical Lightning) Division. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was in the ice business for most of his career and owner of American Ice Company in Dallas for years. Earl served 27 years at Eastridge Park Christian Church in Mesquite, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lon Tillery; and great grandson, Cole Freiden. Earl is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Charlene. He is also survived by his daughter, Donna Toler and husband, Paul; daughter, Kathy Bouchard and husband, Tracy; grandchildren, Kristi Miller, Donnell Toler, Cameron Bouchard, Earl Toler and wife, Bonnie; Billy Toler, Shane Toler, Jason Toler, and Ashley Bouchard, along with 12 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 12:30pm, Wednesday, October 24th at Restland Wildwood Chapel with Bro. Dan Carroll officiating, followed by a graveside service.
