Ms. Earldine Marquieta Schupbach's Obituary
Vicki Schupbach of Dallas, Texas, died Friday April, 21, 2023 at age 95.
Born Earldine Marquieta to Jewell Evelyn Bentley and Joseph Marshall Williams on February 25, 1928, she was a master of documenting the everyday; keeping journals and detailed scrapbooks of her life. Legend says she decided to go by “Vicki” in her adolescence upon finding a compact with the name engraved on it.
Vicki married David Raymond Schupbach on September 26, 1946. They lived in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas where they raised three children; Evelyn Carol, David Clinton, and Kimberly Leigh. She worked as a hostess at the Zodiac Room restaurant in the Neiman Marcus Downtown Dallas location in the 1960s and was an active member of the Historical Society of Dallas and the Pleasant Grove Christian Church where she served as a board member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. A very patriotic woman, she was involved with the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association as a spouse of a survivor and was a charter member of the WWII Memorial Society.
Vicki had an affinity for the creative arts, which she often expressed through needlepoint and sewing projects. Anyone who knew Vicki knew she was an avid collector of Kewpie dolls. Each year in April she and David would make the pilgrimage to Kewpiesta in Branson, Missouri until the late 1990s.
Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Marshall and Jewell Evelyn Williams; sisters, Virginia Lucille “Sister” Williams, JoAnn Margaret “Teeny” Williams Parsons, and Viola Lelani “Baby” Williams; husband, David Raymond Schupbach; daughters Evelyn Carol Schupbach Allman Fry and Kimberly Leigh Schupbach Watson; and grandson, Tracey Warren Schupbach.
She is survived by son, David Clinton Schupbach and wife Janice of Plano, TX; 10 grandchildren, Mike Allman and wife Debra, Mark Allman and wife Rhonda, Mindy Smith and husband Lester, David Clinton Schupbach Jr, Brad Schupbach and wife Michelle, Tiffany Urbanovsky and husband Kevin, Brittany Shields and husband Russell, Tara Knuston and husband J.D., Cody Watson, and Levi Watson; 20 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren
