Earlene P McArdle's Obituary
Earlene P. McArdle passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2023 at Rambling Oaks Assisted Living in Highland Village, Texas with her loving daughters, Laura Moffett and Pam Akers at her side. Born March 26th, 1932 in Leavenworth, Kansas. She was an only child but had a wonderful extended family close by. She worked in the banking industry while raising her three children, never missing anything her children were involved in.
In 1975 she married her second husband, retired Lt. Col. John F. McArdle, a graduate of West Point. They moved to Carrolton, Texas and started a new life of happiness and adventures. Earlene was a devoted wife and proud mother. She soon after was planning parties with new friends and colleagues. She was becoming involved in her community, working in finance and boutiques with upscale clothes. Her personality was amazing and her laugh was contagious. To know her was a blessing.
Earlene loved cooking, entertaining, helping others, being outdoors walking her dogs, going on trips, and vacationing with family and friends. Unfortunately, her husband died in 1982. She had nursed him through two years of cancer until his body gave up. Her spirit and heart were broken. Luckily she had a strong circle of family and friends who stayed connected. They gave her love and support through this difficult time. So once again, Earlene was back to doing her favorite things. She loved her life and everyone loved her.
Her only son, Mark Hathorn, passed on October 12, 2003, but her two daughters, who lived close by, were a great support for her. She had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Holidays were always spent together, one of her greatest joys.
In her later years she had numerous health scares, some worse than others. They did slow her down but mentally they made her stronger. She lived a wonderful 91 years.
Earlene was preceded in death by Lt. Col. John F. McArdle, the love of her life, her parents, Earl G. Peters and Gladys Peters and her son, Mark Hathorn. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family, her oldest daughter Pam (Brent) Akers of Flower Mound, TX, grandchildren Ryan (Ashley) Akers, Todd Akers, Kyle Akers, Scott Akers, Dylan (Jenna) Akers. Her youngest daughter Laura (Denny) Moffett of Carrollton, TX, grandchildren Desirea (Christopher) Fuentes, Dennis Jr. (Lexi) Moffett. Her four great- grandchildren, Trinity Kay Fuentes, Christopher Jr Fuentes, Paisley Mae Akers, and Jaxson Jett Moffett.
