Earlie Mae Cain's Obituary
Earlie Mae Cain, passed away peacefully, on December 18, 2019, surrounded by her children.
Earlie was born in Hearne, Robertson County, Texas on September 22, 1927 to Earler and Walter (Yit) Stewart. She enjoyed life with her six siblings: Lonnie, Hattie, Adell, Eddie, Walter Jr., and Emma.
She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She graduated from Blackshear High School in 1945, and shortly after, married Earlie “Butch” Owens and moved to Fort Worth, Texas for a short time.
Earlie dedicated her love, affection, life, time, and energy to rearing her four children; Evelyn (preceded her in death), Timothy, Peggy and Brenda, making sure each of her children were rooted in the Word and firmly grounded in the Christian faith.
In 1971 Earlie moved back to Fort Worth. During this time, she met and married Morris Cain, who preceded her in death. While living in Fort Worth, Earlie dedicated years of service in various capacities to Rising Star Baptist Church. She also worked as second chef at Italian Inn and in 1974 moved to Dallas to become head chef for Caruso’s Italian Restaurant.
After moving to Dallas in 1974, Earlie united with Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor G.B. Prince, then served under the leadership of Dr. Curtis W. Wallace in various ministries and roles such as Mother’s Board, New Member Orientation Instructor, Usher Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, & Benevolence Secretary until her health and strength began diminishing.
In her later years, Earlie resided with and in the care of her daughter Peggy, a retired RN.
Earlie Cain is survived by her son, Timothy Owens; her daughters, Peggy Tolbert and Brenda Owens; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren: Kristy Owens (Eric and Xavier); LaMonica/Everett Brooks (Pearson and Morgan); Jacquetta Owens (Tevin and Clarke); Yashanae/Gerald Rougeau; Timbra Owens (Blake and CJ); Michael Owens (Mykayla); Tiana Owens; Miriah Owens; her sister, Emma Boxley; two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews; family members, friends and acquaintances, along with devoted and loving church members to cherish and celebrate her life and legacy.
