Muriel and Larry Allbritton raised two amazing daughters. Earnie got to marry one, and I got to marry the other. I remember a visit with Larry during one of his final hospital stays, and Earnie volunteered to give his father-in-law a shave. Earnie had to use an electric shaver, but I recall him being very careful and deliberate to give Larry the very best shave possible under the circumstances. That’s just one example of many things I admired about Earnie. I also admired Earnie’s faith, his love and dedication to Sylvia and their two daughters and his service to our country. The phrase “a life well lived” is frequently used in memorials and tributes, and it certainly applies to Colonel Earnest W. Deadwyler.Richard W. Goode
