Sylvia, I worked with you at JCPenney and a few years ago, after I retired, I took an informative SAIL course from Earnest. He was so knowledgeable and you could tell that he enjoyed sharing his knowledge. My condolences to you and your family on your loss.
Many years ago, we were visiting my brother and sister-in-law, Richard Goode and Elaine Goode’s home for a family event. My then pre-school age daughter was sitting on the floor playing with her Barbie dolls. Diana and Elizabeth also sat on the floor and began to play with my daughter and her Barbie dolls. Earnie walked into the room with a big smile on his face. He said it had been a long time since he saw his daughters play with dolls. He sat down in a near-by chair and enjoyed the moment!My condolences on you loss.

Muriel and Larry Allbritton raised two amazing daughters. Earnie got to marry one, and I got to marry the other. I remember a visit with Larry during one of his final hospital stays, and Earnie volunteered to give his father-in-law a shave. Earnie had to use an electric shaver, but I recall him being very careful and deliberate to give Larry the very best shave possible under the circumstances.That’s just one example of many things I admired about Earnie. I also admired Earnie’s faith, his love and dedication to Sylvia and their two daughters and his service to our country. The phrase “a life well lived” is frequently used in memorials and tributes, and it certainly applies to Colonel Earnest W. Deadwyler.Richard W. Goode
