Earnest James Pricer's Obituary
Went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Friday January 16, 2015. E.J., as he was known, was a devoted and loving husband for 67 years and a loving and caring father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Elbert Pricer, Eva Lena Nixon; stepfather, Bundy Nixon, and sister, Frances Louise Camara. E. J. is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lydia Lucille Pricer; son, James Louis Pricer and wife, Rebecca Ann of Garland; daughter, Jeaneta Loy Pricer of Garland; grandchildren, Brandon Wade Pricer and wife, Jean of Wylie, Cassandra Louise Page of Fort Worth, Reuben Nathaniel Fine of Lewisville, and Delaney Shelby Ann Pricer of Waxahachie; uncle, Johnnie Keeton and wife, Daisy of Dallas: brothers-in-law, Charles Camara of Garland, and Leslie Howard Springer of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law, Loretta Rahm and husband, Jim of Marshall, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. E.J. was born in Hillsboro, Texas, on September 5, 1929. E.J. retired from Safeway stores as produce manager after 40 years. He also retired for the GISD as a custodian from Vial elementary school in Garland. E.J. had a green thumb and always had a perfectly manicured yard, lots of pecan trees, and always the best tomatoes that could be grown. He loved sharing his bounty with friends, family, and neighbors. E.J. loved and restored many vintage Mustang cars over the years, always perfect before being sold. He had been a member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist church for over 50 years. He loved his Sunday school class – Coed Class where he had many friends. The visitation for E.J. will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for E.J. will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
