Easter L. MCGowan Blount's Obituary
Easter L. McGowan Blount was born on September 3, 1925 at the family home near Emory, TX. She passed away on January 28, 2015 in Dallas, TX at the age of 89. Easter graduated from East Texas State Teacher’s College and began her teaching career at Commerce High School teaching both Home Economics and Math. After marrying Bill Stokes she taught Math at Wilmer Hutchins High School, Irving High School, and for over 20 years at Richardson High School where she served as Head of the Math department for a number of years. In 1968 Easter married her college sweetheart, Eugene Blount. Easter is survived by her children Dean, Don, Mike, Maureen, their partners, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eugene, her stepson, Daniel Blount, sister, Oma and her parents. A lifelong Christian, Easter is also survived by many church and other friends. The service for Easter Blount will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:00am at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juliette Fowler Communities/One Heart Fund.
