Thomas, Ebbie's Obituary
Pastor Ebbie Thomas of Plano, Texas passed away November 24, 2024, at the young age of 78.
He was born on December 15, 1945, to the parentage of Ebbie Thomas Sr. and Marie Thomas in Sulfur Springs Tx.
Ebbie Graduated from Plano Independent School district in 1963, shortly after he joined the United States Army and served in the Vietnam war.
In 1967 Ebbie married his longtime friend and classmate Betty Joyce (Jones) and they spent 52 years together before her death on July 11, 2020. Ebbie gave his life to Christ in 1976 and in 1985 Ebbie and his late wife Betty founded their church, A House of Deliverance for all People, where he served for 40 years.
Ebbie spent over 20 years working as an over the road truck driver, he retired in 1995 from Shedd-Bartush Foods to focus on being a full-time pastor.
Ebbie was known for caring deeply for his church and members, mentoring the young ministers, and preaching the word of God. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and preparing his famous barbecue. He will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and his reply to every one’s greeting with lovely, lovely. In 2021 Ebbie was blessed once again to find love with his wife Mary who he spent his last remaining years.
Ebbie is survived by his beloved wife Mary Thomas (Gray); daughter, Deborah Kay Davis of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Kacia Thompson (John) of Pilot Point, Texas.
Kavon Davis of Phoenix, Arizona: great-grandchildren Kacilin and Kallan Thompson both of Pilot Point, Texas. One Sister Jessie Mae Shaw; one brother Nathaniel Thomas.
His bonus daughters; Tiffany Jones (Barron) of Dallas Texas, Ashleey Gray of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Kiffanie, Barron Jr and Khloe Jones of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebbie Sr., and Marie Thomas; brothers, Leon Thomas, Willie Clayton, Edwarind Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Larry Thomas, and sisters Doris Dashield, and Dorris Johnson.
