Ed was such an inspiration. I never heard him complain. He was always happy. My husband Randy and I knew Ed from South MacArthur Church of Christ. We lived down the street from Ed for many years. He would stop by our house coming back from his farm. We had many great conversations. I will always remember him telling about his service in WW II on Iwo Jima. He will be greatly missed. I know he is save in the arms of Jesus. My thoughts and prayers are with the family for comfort, strength and peace.

Ed and I have been very good friends for over 50 years. We both served as deacons at the South MacArthur Church of Christ. I thought the world of Ed. Even though I moved from Irving to Tyler, we still kept in touch via phone or visits in Irving. He will be greatly missed. He was a great man. Prayers for his family.

Ed was a dear friend of ours in our young married years. Our girls were also fond of him! When I told my youngest daughter of his passing she said, “He taught me how to use my crutches on stairs!” He will be missed.
My father, Olen D Oden, were the best of friends for many years. Not just friends, but Christian Brothers. They served communion together at church and were also ushers together. My fond memories were of Ed and dad working together on our well at our house too. My dear thoughts go to my dad waiting at the gates of heaven when Ed arrived. Two friends embracing and laughing and talking. Ed was a paul bearer at daddy's funeral. Lovingly, Deanne Oden
Ed was my great uncle by marriage. My mother ,Neita, and Nellie were very close and we visited often. On such a visit, Ed duct taped blocks of wood to the clutch and brakes on his FarmAll tractor so my feet could reach them and let me plow the garden behind his home…I was 10 or 11…never felt so grown-up...loved him and Aunt Nellie as did everyone in our family.
