Edda Puckett- De Plata's Obituary
Edda Guadalupe Puckett - De Plata was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great grandmother. Born in San Luis, Venezuela to Castor Vilela and Conception Talavera in 1931. In her early childhood, she would move to Cabimas, Venezuela.
At the age of 7, her brother-in-law would profoundly impact her life by introducing her and guiding her journey with the Lord. Devoting herself as a disciple of the Lord. She worked as a commissary cashier and a movie theater attendant. At night, she studied endlessly to become a nurse and a teacher. She would later go on to spend 40 years working diligently as a teacher. Words cannot begin to describe the dedication, strength, and hard work this woman embodied. As a single mom, she took on the role of both mother and father to raise 5 children. She worked diligently to ensure they were cared for, fed, educated, and had a roof over their head. Even with her full plate, she always extended a helping hand to those around her. In 1970, she met an American man named Frank Puckett.
He embraced Edda and her children, leading them to a life in America, all but one her daughter Janet. Edda and Frank spent 40 long and happy years together. Following his passing, the Lord would guide her to her last partner, William Robert De Plata. A man with which she spent the later years of her life. Her life was one full of love and care. The Lord blessed her with the opportunity to see generations of grandchildren born in her lifetime. A woman who has forever impacted those around her and has carved a special place in all our hearts.
