Eddie Roy Crabtree's Obituary
CRABTREE, ED, age 83, of Plano, TX passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Garnet Hill Rehab, Wylie, Texas. He was born on March 26, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Roy and Lois Crabtree. Ed was the 3rd of 4 children. He married the love of his life Lois Crabtree in Dallas, Texas on June 15, 1950. They had 1 child, Kelli. Ed was a current resident of Plano, Texas for 20 years and was employed by Navistar Trucks in Sales and Management for 31 years. He then worked as Vice President of Fleet Sales for Rocky Mountain International Trucks for 9 years where he retired. After his retirement, he volunteered at Plano Police Dept for approximately 5 years. He also volunteered at The City House for abused, neglected and homeless children where he enjoyed reading to them. Ed was a member of Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church and also the Power of Prayer Sunday School class that he loved. His love for the Lord was obvious by his welcoming smile and love for others. His favorite pastime has always been golf, golf and more golf! Ed will be remembered by his loving wife of 63 years Lois; their daughter, Kelli Burkey and husband, Randy of Corsicana, TX; brother, Don Crabtree and wife, Mary Alice of New Braunfels, TX; granddaughter, Britni Ganze and husband, Jeffrey of Leander, TX; granddaughter, Lindsay Burkey of Irving, TX, grandson, Blake Burkey of Corsicana, TX and one great grandson, Daxton Ganze also of Leander, TX. Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Lois Crabtree; sister, Mildred Cherry and brother, Bob Crabtree. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Interment will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:15 AM at DFW National Cemetery. Service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Restland Memorial Chapel.
