Eddie J. Neel's Obituary
NEEL, EDDIE J. also known as “Precious Treasure”, “Sweetie Pie”, “Dad”, “Granddad”, “Senor Neel” and “El Jefe”, is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Diane, son Grant Neel and wife, Andrea, grandchildren, Gavin and Madison of Carrollton, TX, daughter Kellie Berggren, granddaughter Katie of Smithville, MO, daughter Alecia Hill and husband Steven, grandson Luke of Farmers Branch, TX and Uncle Richard Hall of Claremont, CA. Eddie was President and Owner of Britton Building Maintenance, a successful janitorial service that he co-owned with his son, Grant Neel and dear friend of 37 years, Merrietta Freeman-Bush. He took great pride in going above and beyond for clients and customers, maintaining long standing relationship and becoming close friend and confidant to many. He was an avid golfer and poker player. He dearly loved his children and was so proud of their accomplishments. He was crazy about his grandchildren and would come home early from work to laugh and play with them. With great pride he even taught his first grandchild, Katie, to play golf with her first set of golf clubs at the age of four. His life was richly enhanced by a host of family, friends and business associates and all the good times he had with them. Our world will not be the same without Eddie in it, but heaven just became a little more fun. A special thank you and deep appreciation is extended to Drs. Allan Shulkin, J. Edward Rosenthal and Kevin Kim, and all the staff of ICU at Medical City Dallas Hospital, especially Clarissa Hinojosa, Amelia Neal, Zeelia Balin and Heather Hassan, for their extraordinary care and compassion. God has you in his arms, but we have you in our hearts. Rest in peace, my sweetie pie, love of my life. Visitation will be from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Friday, September 13, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 12521 Inwood Rd., Dallas, TX 75244 with interment to follow immediately at Restland Memorial Park.
