Edgar Vivian Fulkerson's Obituary
Born September 15, 1920 in Dallas, Texas to Vollie Weber Fulkerson and Edgar Hughes Fulkerson. He attended Adamson High School and graduated with a perfect attendance record in 1938. He attended Howard Payne University, The University of Texas and SMU. He enlisted in the Army, September 28, 1942 and was honorably discharged on March 31, 1946 where he received the Bronze Star Medal. He was in the Army Reserves from July 21, 1949 to September 15, 1980 and retired as Chief Warrant Officer. He married Wenona Wanda Marion on July 3, 1947. They had a daughter, Vivian Kay Fulkerson on August 11, 1951. He was employed by Austin Stores and then worked for Graham Brown Shoe Stores as Secretary-Treasurer for 21 years. He became an auditor for Dallas County until retirement in 1985. He was an active member of Royal Haven Baptist Church where he was involved in the 39er’s Group and faithfully passed out bulletins every Sunday. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, Bridge, Forty-Two and reading and loved the Texas Longhorns, Cowboys, Mavericks and Rangers. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kay and Don Wallace of Valley View, TX, her step-children Don Wallace IV, Megan & Tom Robertson and Andrew Wallace, sister, Margaret Grace, brother Charles Fulkerson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Edgar was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Wanda Fulkerson. Pleas make donations to Royal Haven Baptist Church, Dallas or Dallas Baptist University. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. and funeral services on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Restland Memorial Chapel.
