Edgar Allen Jeffrey, age 91, passed away peacefully April 12, 2019 at his home in Dallas surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born November 11, 1927 to John George Jeffrey and Mary Virginia Anderson Jeffrey in San Read Obituary
I knew that Mr. Jeffrey was a wonderful person when Sue would tell us how beautifully he cared for his ailing wife. In addition to that….I know Sue….and Sue is a kind, understanding, intelligent person, who is always working on being a good person. And those qualities were bequeathed to her by her father and her mother. Mr. Jeffrey, peace be with you and your dear wife, who’s been waiting to see you again for a very long time.

Like Bill Davis, Dr. Ed was a mentor to me at EPA when I started here over 33 years ago. There was a trio of PHS officers in our Drinking Water Section, Dr Ed, Tom Love and Warren Norris, who had a major impact on the development of the first national drinking water standards even before EPA existed. We all owe Dr Ed a debt of gratitude for his work and those of PHS who have contributed so much to the health of our citizens. So many stories about Korea too!
Dear Laurie, Michael, Susie, Mike, Anna and Ryan, May you all take comfort together with family during this time. I’ m sure all the love and care thru the years was much appreciated by your father, and grandfather. May you all be blessed with good memories of a lifetime shared together. God bless you all. When I started as a young engineer at the EPA, Ed was my best mentor at work. He would do everything from explaining nuclear decay daughter products to me, to teaching me how to fix virtually anything that ever broke at my house or in my car. Over the years he told me countless stories of his experiences growing up, in the Army and with the EPA and each story always made my life richer. He also must have lent me a dozen books to read from his personal collection over the years and we would have great lunch time discussions about the contents of each.
