Edna Baker Hutto's Obituary
Edna began her life in Eddy, Texas as one of nine children born to Nora and Willie Baker. She married C. A. “Toppy” Hutto in 1939 and they began their long and happy marriage in Waco. Toppy’s career moved them first to San Antonio and finally to Richardson in 1962, where she resided until her death. Her life was devoted to family, faith and friends. She was an avid bridge player and looked forward to her monthly meeting with her “coffee club.” She lost her only son, Bill in an auto accident in 1972 and her beloved Toppy passed away in 1993. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Kaye of San Francisco, Carla (Rodger) Bruce of Richardson, Debbie (Jim) Tressa of Plano, daughter-in-law Linda Long of Allen, grandchildren Tim, Chad (Ginger) and Brent Hutto, Emily Bruce, Stephen (Erin) Tressa, Jessica and Jennifer Tressa, great-grandchildren Blake and Logan Hutto and Noah Tressa, sister Ara Sanders of Waco, sisters-in-law Peggy Reid of Aquilla, Dorothy Hutto of Waco, Awilda Baker of Sherman, Evelyn Baker of Seattle, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family would also like to acknowledge the love and support of Jo Thornton and family, Dave Edmiston, Patricia Mayes and Sandra Ukeje. Special thanks to the staff at the Plaza of Richardson, especially Doreen, Robert, Chelsea, Wisdom, Uchenna and Princess. Despite her failing health, in her final days, she maintained her grace and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. If desired, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Richardson or the charity of your hoice. A memorial service will be held at the Wildwood Chapel, Restland Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 29 at 12:30 p.m.
