Edna Lorene Russell Carrow's Obituary
Carrow, Edna Russell age 101 of Hideaway, TX. died at home and became a Valentine to Heaven Feb. 14, 2016. She was just worn out from staying constantly busy, partying and dancing, gardening and gaming. She joined her two wonderful husbands William (Andy) Russell who she married in 1943 they were married 35 years when he died in 1978. And Lawrence Carrow who she married in 1984, they were married 16 years when he died in 2000. She was also preceded by her parents and 8 of her siblings all waiting on her energy in heaven. Born in Hopkins County and graduated from Winnsboro High School. She moved to Dallas where she worked at Neiman Marcus in the 40’s and early 50’s till she and Andy adopted their son Don. She later returned to Neiman’s part time because she loved their clothes. Living in Dallas till 1986 she was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. A member of the Caladium Garden Club, several bridge and book clubs. She was an awesome cook, had an unbelievable green thumb, and loved to dance, play bridge and mahjong. She and Lawrence both had lost their spouses and had homes at Hideaway Lake where they met and married. They like most at Hideaway had a ton of fun together; it was a perfect second marriage. They loved Hideaway and Hideaway loved them. She was a member of the Lindale Methodist Church and the Open Door Sunday School Class. The keep Hideaway Beautiful club, bridge club, dance club and mahjong club. She is survived by a sister Frances Landerfield of Scottsdale, AZ. son Don Russell (Susan) of Dallas, step daughters Lila Driver (John), Sue Ann Ley (Larry), both of Hideaway, TX. grandchildren Taylor Russell, of Los Angeles, CA. Michelle Russell Johnston (Welden) of Austin, TX. Derek Driver (Jennifer), of Sulphur Springs, TX. Drew Driver (Michelle), of Lynchburg, VA. and 7 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank her primary caregiver and longtime friend Margaret Andrews of Lindale for the love, care and devotion she provided Edna. The fine people at Visiting Angels who filled in especially Melodie Smith. Also in the end Hospice of East Texas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hope Cottage Adoption Agency 3705 Swiss Ave, Dallas TX 75204 or the charity of your choice. A celebration of life and burial will be at 2:30 PM Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Dallas. A second service will be Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at First United Methodist Church Lindale, TX.
