Edna Waldenville McClintock's Obituary
Edna Waldenville McClintock, 97, of Plano, passed away April 17, 2019 in Plano, Texas. She was born January 12, 1922 in Freeport, Pennsylvania, to John and Jennie Waldenvile. She attended Indiana Pa State Teachers College and Oberlin Conservatory where she studied harp. She married Harry McClintock in 1944 and came to Texas-Longview, Dallas, Midland and back to Dallas. She was an organist for St. Andrews Presbyterian and St. Luke Methodist Churches in Midland and was a harpist in the Midland-Odessa Symphony. She also played in Midland Theater productions.Upon her return to Dallas, she taught harp to a number of students, including adults who wanted to learn to play for their own enjoyment. She was always proud of her students who went on to have professional careers as harpists. She was organist-choir director for McKinney Presbyterian Church. She played harp for Dallas Rep Theater productions; she taught harp in the Richardson schools and was a long time member of Dallas Harp Society.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dave, Arthur, Alan; sister Helen and Harry McClintock, her husband of 67 years. Survivors include daughters Kay, Eileen, Marilyn and son Harry and his wife Linda; grandsons Andrews and Patrick; and nieces and nephews.Contrubutions can be mde to the Edna W. McClintock Memorial Harp Fund at UT Dallas. Our family thanks the wonderful staff of Dayspring Assisted Living and THPC for the excellent care of our mother. A graveside service was arranged at Restland.
