Edna "Mema" Neel's Obituary
Ms. Edna Eileen “Mema” Neel, 87, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2019, in Garland, Texas. She was born on April 2, 1931, to her loving and thoughtful parents, George Hyde and Evelyn Morales in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Edna Eileen Neel was a caretaker of children. “Mema” is what everyone called her. She loved her children, as well as all the children she took care of over many, many years. She will be remembered for her gentle nature and generosity. Edna Eileen Neel is survived by her daughters; Glenda Neal of Mesquite, TX, Claudia Ferguson of Sunnyvale, TX, and Eve Neel of Oklahoma City, OK, sister; Mary Morales of Los Angeles, CA, brothers; John Morales and Paul Morales of Los Angeles, CA, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, George “Corky” Hyde and great-grandson Christopher Dailey. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
