Ed and I met working together at State Farm, we remained friends and over the years. As I watch the live broadcast of his service today, I am still in disbelief that Ed is gone from this world. He had a large personality and found much success in his short time here on earth. May he rest in peace in the arms of our heavenly Father. My condolences to his wife Sarah, their four children, his parents, his family, co-workers and friends. I pray you all find the strength to live your best life in his honor. To us, you were more than our agent ("like a good neighbor, Ed Lara, was there!" :P), our financial adviser, even a mentor at times... you were our friend, our brother, a pain in the butt, stubborn one but always with a positive calm attitude!
I remember you would always tell me that you were going to be a millionaire one day and your kids were your WHY! I would laugh off the millionaire part but the reality is that I genuinely believed you! The drive and passion you had for everything you did were inspiring and contagious! You were determined to break down barriers and be the change his world needed.
I will miss not being able to call my agent when I hit another rail. lol. (the rail won, that day!) or just anything policy related. I will miss your random calls to ask permission for Manuel to hang out with you guys! most recently, I will miss all the motivational and inspiring quotes you posted on your social media stories! You would constantly remind us to slow down and calm down because let's be honest life has us rushing!
May you rest in paradise! knowing you, you are probably having one big party laughing down at us :P. you will forever be in our hearts!
