Edward Alan Czarnecki's Obituary
Edward Alan Czarnecki of Richardson, Texas, was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on October 13, 1942.
Ed graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1960 and studied at the US Naval School of Music where he played his violin with the US Naval Orchestra. After the Navy, Ed attended Northeastern Bible College and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Sacred Music. It was during this time that Ed and Bell began dating and were married on August 29,1964. Ed began teaching music in the Bloomfield, NJ school system and continued there for nearly 30 years. Ed directed the North Jersey Regional Chorus and the All-State Chorus several times and was a requested conductor by his peers and students. His passion for music and love for his students had a huge impact on so many who continued to stay in contact with “Mr. Czar” right up until his passing. Along with teaching, Ed and Bell served as youth leaders at Brookdale Baptist Church for over 20 years where Ed directed the church youth choir, “New Horizons” and further spread his passion for music with so many students. In 1996, Ed and Bell joined Millington Baptist Church where Ed directed the Choir for several years.
Ed and Bell retired to Richardson, Texas in 2005 and immediately got involved in church ministry at Trinity Bible Church serving under the leadership of his son-in law, Mark Jones. Ed directed the choir and played his violin regularly in the worship service. Ed also faithfully ministered for years downtown at the Union Gospel Mission playing his violin and leading the men in worship.
For the past 7 years, Ed served with the Beth Sar Shalom worship team which meets at Freedom Church on Saturday mornings. This group was one of Ed’s most beloved times and he looked forward to it every week. Along with playing with Beth Sar Shalom, Ed played on the Prestonwood Baptist Church orchestra and had a lot of fun playing with the group, The Campfire Boys, who played a bluegrass style.
While Ed loved his music, he loved his family most of all and spent all of his free time guiding them and encouraging them in music, baseball, attended their concerts, plays, and games and was always the loudest cheerleader in the room! Nothing brought him more joy than investing in their lives.
After a three-month illness, Ed went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 16, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones.
He is survived by Bell, his wife of 58 years, three daughters; Susan Burton, Rebecca Jones, and Kathy Settle, a son; David Czarnecki, a son-in-law; John Burton, grandchildren; Lindsay Jackson, TJ Jackson, Nathan Jones, Xenia Jones, Alex Jones, Asher Jones, Hannah Settle, Logan Settle, Katie Burton, Courtney Burton, Lizzy Burton, Aiden Czarnecki, Mason Czarnecki, great-granddaughters; Ruthie Jackson & Shiloh Jackson, sister; Evelyn Picker, nieces; Heather Ohlson & Kelly Sculpher, nephew; Christian Sculpher and a host of extended family and dear friends.
