Edward Hamilton's Obituary
Ed Hamilton, 81, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and colleague passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2019. He was a native of Dallas, attended Sunset High School and Southern Methodist University. He was a longtime member of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason, Worshipful Master of Landmark Lodge, member of Scottish Rite, and served in the Naval Air Reserve Force.His long-serving career touched many facets of real estate. He was a Texas Real Estate Broker for over 55 years, National Director of Real Estate for Home Savings of America, resort property developer which included several planned communities around Cedar Creek Lake, and a Development Partner for the Hanover Company. Ed developed three high-rise apartment buildings in Uptown Dallas; The Ashton, Cirque, and 1900 McKinney, in addition to many other residential developments in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.Survived by his wife of 61 years, Pat Hamilton, their children, daughter Cheryl Gallagher, her husband Mike, daughter Cristi Closs, her husband Alan, and son Ryan Hamilton, his wife Stacey, eleven grandchildren, Courtney Nash, Christopher Nash, Brooke Marshall, Lauren Kunze, Ryan Gallagher, Katie Gallagher, Austin Closs, Garrett Closs, Nicholas Hamilton, Hudson Hamilton, Berkley Hamilton, one great granddaughter, Rowan Lane Marshall, sister, Barbara Nolan, brother-in-law, Steve Smith, sisters-in-law, Sharon Ellis, Sandy Smith and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Erister Ashcraft Hamilton, and brother, Ric Hamilton.A loving husband, father and grandfather, Ed will be missed by all. His loving and caring nature was a blessing to his family and all those who knew him.Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas. 2:00 PM visitation and 3:00 PM service.
