Edward Jackson's Obituary
JACKSON, EDWARD “ED” was born in Groesbeck, TX on Aug, 8, 1922, the fourth of 12 children born to James W. and Helen (Connell) Jackson. Ed entered The U.S. Army in Sept. 1942 and served 2 years in Europe during World II with Company O, 247th Infantry. After the service he returned to TX and settled in rural Wise County. He married Blanche Ophelia Williams on Jan. 10, 1947 in Mansfield, Arkansas. Over the next 35 years ED and his family lived around TX while he was a supervisor on road construction projects. Blanche preceded him in death Aug 1, 1975. In his later years Ed loved to talk about the different road projects he saw completed with perfect recall. Edward married Ada Lee Burton on Aug 22, 1976 in Rockwall, TX. Ed is survived by his wife Ada Lee of Rowlett, son Lynn Edward Jackson and wife Barbara of Dallas, daughter Cynthia Joy and husband Bill Farver of Waxhaw, N.C. Two granddaughters Karen Stirnitzke and husband Patrick, from Charlotte N.C., and Jennifer Range and husband Brian, also from Charlotte. Four great grandchildren Yager, Austin and Zeke Range and Dana Stirnitzke. Services are scheduled Thursday, Jan 30, 2014 at 3:00 with visitation at 2:00 both in Wildwood Chapel at Restland with burial to follow.
