Edward Keith Lukin's Obituary
Edward Keith Lukin, aged 96, passed away peacefully on December 15th, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born on February 15th, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Gertrude and Abraham Lukin, Keith lived a full and vibrant life.
Keith had a passion for fishing, birding, traveling, and sharing great meals with family and friends. He loved music, from big band to Dixieland to chamber music and often whistled along. Keith had a wry sense of humour, a mischievous twinkle and could be a smart aleck. He was also an avid reader, and was always on the hunt for a great deal.
He was also a proud veteran of the US Army and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Masons. He was a dedicated member of several organizations, including the Institute of Supply Management (Dallas Chapter) and the Shriners. His commitment to these groups reflected his values of service, community, and camaraderie.
His time as a quartermaster in the Army prepared him for a career in procurement, helping people and businesses succeed by ensuring they had what they needed in a variety of industries. Keith had encyclopedic knowledge, a steel-trap memory and a sharp mind. He was a valued colleague and thrived at work. He retired for the second time at 82, and then proceeded to launch a new career as an independent consultant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert S. Lukin; and sister, Joan A. Krupnick.
He is survived by his faithful wife of 71 years, Allie Dee (Leeth) Lukin; son, David Lukin (and wife Terri), son, Mark Lukin (and wife Dacia), daughter, Anne Lukin, son, Richard Lukin, grandchildren; Aaron, Nicole, Leo (Emma), and Erin (Jesse), great-grandchildren; Taylor, Sullivan, and Savanah, as well as 3 nieces, and 4 nephews.
