Edward Glenn Meynig's Obituary
Edward Glenn Meynig, 81, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 21, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Glenn was born September 21, 1932 in Iraan, Texas. The only child of an oilfield worker and whose mother was a school teacher, he got a leg up on education and was admitted to Texas A&M and joined the Aggie Corp at the early age of 16 and graduated Class of 53 with Bachelor Of Science in Business Administration. Upon his 21st birthday he joined the United States Air Force, and was trained as a fighter pilot flying the F86 Sabre as 1ST Lieutenant he was Honorably Discharged in 1956. He was based in Nevada, Alaska and Texas. He married Flo Hicks in 1954 in Big Springs Texas, had their first daughter Gina in Austin Texas, 1956, and son Mark in 1958 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Glenn first worked leasing heavy equipment, then US Rubber Co in LaPorte, Texas, and moved to Dallas in 1961 to work for TI Supply earning recognition as top salesman. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start Titan Reps Inc. specializing in power electronic applications. He pioneered many industry wide applications which have since proven to be industry standards. His success provided his family a lifelong career and retirement. He lived in the same home 51 years in Dallas. Glenn was saved April 4, 1944 at the age of 11. He joined Royal Haven Baptist Church in 1961 and served faithfully in many ministries, committees and as deacon for over 40 years, a total of 53 years as a faithful member. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Flossie Irene Hicks, his father Robert Edward Meynig and mother Gaynelle Dillon. He is survived by daughter Regina Lea Meynig Castleberry of Plano and son Mark Edward Meynig and wife Regina Ann Robertson Meynig of Van Alstyne. Grandchildren; Justin Alan Castleberry, Hunter Glenn Castleberry, Kirk Edward Meynig, Elizabeth Ann Meynig, Elaina Faye Meynig, and great grandson Noah Zion Meynig. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM, Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
