Edward Michael Beakey's Obituary
EDWARD MICHAEL BEAKEY Left this world on angels wings on Saturday, April 23, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and adopted by Dr. Howard and Sally Beakey. His father recognized a talent in his young son and he studied voice for many years and was a featured soloist at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Upon joining the navy he sang with the Navy Orchestra and toured naval bases in the Mediterranean. After an honorable discharge he continued his love of music and performed with the Houston Symphony and later Community Theatre in Shreveport. LA. He and his wife Stephanie operated Barbizon School of Modeling in Dallas and Fort Worth, TX for over 30 years, then he started a manufacturing business which he operated in Dallas and continued after moving to Hot Springs, AR. He had an infectious personality, never met a stranger, loved life, loved to entertain. He and his wife enjoyed travel and boating. He was an avid boater and a long time member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Stephanie whom he adored for 42 years of blissful, loving and caring marriage. Visitation will be on Wed. April 27 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas and Mass on Thurs. April 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Sophia Ukrainian Catholic Church in the Colony, TX A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 6th at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Grand Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas
