Edward C. Wirt's Obituary
Edward C. Wirt, a longtime resident of Richardson Texas, passed away peacefully, May 22, 2022 at the age of 88 years old. He was faithful to God, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. “Eddie” was a true American patriot.
Eddie was born on April 1, 1934 in Northumberland, County, Pennsylvania as an only child to Jean Mae (Edgar) and Luther Wirt. He proudly served and retired from the United States Navy after 20 years and worked at Rockwell International for 24 years. He served as a representative for the Pentagon for seven years. After retiring from Rockwell, he worked part time at Arapaho Pharmacy delivering medicine to homebound seniors.
While serving in the Navy, Eddie met the love of his life, Elizabeth Snyder. They married October 14, 1955. They had two children who they loved and adored.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church Richardson for over fifty years. He had an infectious and loving spirit and enjoyed volunteering at church and giving back to the community. He was a member of the Elks #2485 Plano for 50 years as well as other non-profit organizations. As a veteran, he had a passion for supporting and championing veteran’s causes and programs.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Liz, son Chuck (Barbara), daughter Debbie (Steve), step-son Harvey (Dianne), granddaughters Cynthia (Jimmy), Sydni, grandsons Nathan and Brian, great-grandchildren Dylan, Haley and Dominic.
A private funeral service will be held May 31, 2022 at Restland Memorial Park.
