Edwin Randolph Martin's Obituary
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:3). Edwin Martin, who was born on December 31, 1958, in Orrville, Alabama to the late Eugene and Earnestine Martin, passed away peacefully in his temporary home to enter into a permanent new home in heaven on October 12, 2018.He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined the First Baptist Church in Orville, Alabama and continued his place of worship at the New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Edwin was a man of faith and integrity. He always had a strong passion for helping others and encouraging young men to further their education because he was a graduate of Alabama A& M University with a degree in Electrical Engineering which reflected his career as an Electrical Engineer with Texas Instrument for 18 years and the University of UT Southwestern Hospital for 15 years.Edwin was preceded in death by his sister Sally Murray, he leaves to cherish his memories a dedicated and devoted wife Teresa “Diane” Martin of 34 years (Mesquite, TX); three sisters and five brothers; Evangelist Mary (James) Jackson of Covina,California; Dr. Patricia Ann Martin of Huntsville, Alabama; Benita Martin (Nathaniel) Dwight of Huntsville, Alabama; John Martin of Lowndes County Alabama; Sam (Brenda) Martin of Lowndes County, Alabama; Ronnie (Stephanie) Martin of Atlanta, Georgia; and Dr. Michael (Jackie) Martin of Granger, Iowa; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a devoted nephew Travis Owens and devoted friend Von Miller Sr.God Saw You….God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be So he put His arms around you And whispered “Come to me.”With tearful eyes we watched you As you slowly slipped away And though we loved you dearly We couldn’t make you stay.Your golden heart stopped beating Your tired hands put to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.AcknowledgmentTeresa Martin and family express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to all our family and friends.
