Effie Ola Ware's Obituary
The family of Effie (Jack) Tapper Ware is saddened to announce her passing on November 5, 2022 at the age of 77. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Joe Ware of Garland, Texas. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Stephanie Brand and Joey Ware, along with their spouses Robert Brand and Mika Ware, and grandchildren Ashley Miranda, Megan Brand, Rachel Brand, Kaela Ware and Lawson Ware and great grandson Jameson Schutter. She will be dearly missed by her remaining last sibling, Sam Tapper, and her many nieces and nephews.
Effie is preceded in death by her parents Sam and Alpha Tapper and her sisters Martha Tapper and Ann Erhart.
Effie was born in 1944 in the farming town of Paducah, Texas. She graduated from West Texas State University. Effie then moved to Dallas to work as a secretary. In 1963 Effie ran off and married Joe. Effie worked at the original Dr. Pepper company on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. Effie started crocheting potholders and started selling them at Vikon Village and Traders Village. She then opened her own business, Effie’s Gifts in Greenville, Texas. Soon after that, she started selling handbags and had a shop at First Monday Canton for several years in addition to doing many other craft fairs all over Texas.
She loved playing bridge and always enjoyed a road trip to Winstar with her friends and family. She loved dogs and was a great help as a willing dog sitter. But most of all, she loved her role as Nanny to her five grandchildren and one great grandson. She loved taking care of them and spending time with them was one of her greatest joys. She will be sincerely missed by her family and friends who knew and loved her.
Visitation for Effie Ware will be Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. A service will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 10:00 am in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
