Elaine Evelyn Butchofsky's Obituary
Butchofsky, Elaine Evelyn ~ was born on December 29, 1930 to Carl and Ruth Johnson in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Denver high school in 1948 and attended Denver University for 2 years. Elaine then moved to El Paso, Texas to work for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph. In 1954, she was offered the opportunity of a blind date with Don Butchofsky. Elaine and Don were married on May 8, 1955. From 1965 to 1988, Elaine worked as a bookkeeper and treasurer for Cunningham Distributing. In 2004, Elaine and Don moved to Plano, Texas to live near their daughter. Elaine battled arthritis for many years and was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. Through it all, she was always cheerful and considerate. She passed away at her home on February 13, 2011. She is survived by her husband Don Butchofsky, sisters Carleen Christensen, Chris Blood, and Claudia Hilzer, brothers Don Johnson and Jim Johnson, daughter Cara Pilgrim, granddaughter Amy Kraus, and great-granddaughter Jada. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to the Arthritis Foundation . A memorial service will be held at a later date.
