Elaine Mary Nichols' Obituary
Elaine Mary Nichols died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 with family by her side. She was 93. Elaine was born September 17, 1924, in Davenport, Iowa to Esther and Clem Guentherman. She married H. Louis Nichols in Dallas on May 17, 1949, and they were married 60 years until he preceded her in death on April 25, 2010. Elaine was a Charter member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church, a member of the Dallas Woman’s Club, the Dallas Lawyer’s Auxiliary, and the Seneca Review Club. She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Elaine is survived by her children; David M. Nichols and Martha M. Nichols, both of Dallas, granddaughters Katherine Elaine Byrne and Cory Byrne of Lawton, Oklahoma and Jennifer Elizabeth Tucker and Jarrett Tucker of Bonham, Texas. She was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Robert Guentherman. The Nichols family would like to extend their utmost gratitude and thanks to Elaine’s caregiver, Gayle Bishop, who made a promise to Louis that she would take care of Elaine, just as she took care of him. We could not have asked for a better caregiver and friend. Our sweet Elaine could not have been in better hands. The family would also like to thank the staff at Presbyterian Village North and Acappella in-home care for their wonderful care during the last few months. Memorial service to be held in the Chapel at Park Cities Presbyterian Church located at 4124 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX 75219 on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be given to Park Cities Presbyterian Church or the Union Gospel Mission.
