Mrs. Elaine Skrabanek's Obituary
Elaine Allen Skrabanek was born on April 13, 1937, on her family's farm near Streetman, Texas.
She passed away surrounded by her children on November 21, 2020, from complications due to a 6-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1954, then moved to Dallas and earned a degree from Dallas Business College. While working in Dallas, she met Henry Skrabanek through mutual friends and they married in 1960.
The loves of her life were her Savior Jesus Christ, her husband of 54 years Henry and her children and grandchildren.
Her favorite activities included entertaining friends and family, baking with her grandchildren, traveling with her friends, hosting events at their home, attending her grandchildren’s school events, enjoying Bible Studies, and spending time with Henry at the family farm.
She is preceded in death by her husband Henry; survived by her three children Becki Snow (Chris), Carol Barrows (Jeff) and Phil Skrabanek (Meredith); sisters Pat Burkett and Wanda Hughes and brother Sam Allen; “Nana” also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Taylor Snow (Adriana), Tanner Snow (Tyler), Emily Ruleman (Justin), Jonathan Barrows; Andrew, Jenna, Luke, Joel, Abbie, Ellie and Sarah Skrabanek; great-granddaughter Kinsley Snow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, from 3 pm – 5 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 11 am at North Highlands Bible Church, 9626 Church Road, Dallas 75238, followed immediately by a graveside ceremony at Restland Cemetery. Masks and social distancing protocols will be followed at all events.
Elaine’s service will be available via livestream on the North Highlands Bible Church’s Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dallas Theological Seminary or Living Water International in memory of Elaine Skrabanek.
