GARISON, ELEANOR MIDDINGS ‘ELLIE’ Born February 22, 1918, married May 4, 1940, to Arlie C. ‘A.C.’ or ‘Gary’ Garison. Ellie Garison passed away peacefully on August 5, 2008, after a brave one-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Ellie’s legacy is that of love and generosity among countless friends with whom she left memories of an extraordinary zest for life, love of learning, and tales of worldwide travels with her beloved Gary, who predeceased her on November 4, 1998. A life-long resident of East Dallas and a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Ellie was born in a house on Bryan Parkway, and she and Gary gave generously to the arts and sciences in and around Dallas throughout their lives. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellie’s honor may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, TX, 75219; Galveston Shriner’s Hospital, 815 Market Street, Galveston, TX 77550; and the Salvation Army, 8787 Stemmons Freeway, Suite 800, Dallas, TX 75247. A visitation for Ellie will be held at Restland on Sunday, August 10, 2008, 6:00-8:00 p.m., with a memorial service in Restland’s Wildwood Chapel on Monday, August 11, at 10:00 a.m.
