Eleanor Linda Ursprung's Obituary
Eleanor Linda Ursprung, a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, at the age of 83. Linda was born on August 27, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Trevor Christie Lewis and Mary Ellen Lewis.
Linda met the love of her life, Dale Henry Ursprung, at the University of Rochester while earning a degree in Education. After marrying on July 6, 1963, they built a life together rich in love and faith. Their 59-year union was celebrated through many cherished moments marked by a shared love of God, family, travel and wonderful friends.
Linda was a founding member of Prestonwood Baptist Church and was deeply committed to her faith. She sang in the choir for many years and volunteered at numerous youth camps where she guided and inspired others with her servant’s heart and love for the Lord. She also served many years as a leader and administrator in Bible Study Fellowship, an organization dedicated to biblical teaching and Christian fellowship. Another passion of Linda’s was researching her genealogy. She was a proud member of the DAR.
She leaves behind her children: Cynthia and her husband Bob Lindsey, Tricia and her husband Greg Freeman, and Robert and his wife Susie Ursprung. As Mimi, she was a cherished grandmother to Will, Andrew, Trevor, Matthew, Meredith, Collier, and Cate, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Linda's legacy is one of unwavering faith, love, and dedication to her family and church. Her warmth, kind spirit, and enduring smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bible Study Fellowship. www.bsfinternational.org
