Eliza Evelyn Landwermeyer's Obituary
Eliza Evelyn Lummus Landwermeyer was born on December 23, 1922 near San Angelo, Texas to Wallace S. Montgomery and Stella Montgomery. She peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 13, 2018.Evelyn was married to Roy H. Lummus until his death in 1970. She later married John Robert Landwermeyer, “Bob”, on November 11, 1978. They were married until his death on September 1, 2011.Evelyn or “MeMe” was a woman of faith, integrity, loyalty, and devotion. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and exemplified His characteristics in her daily life. For many years, she was a dedicated member of Highland Baptist Church that is now Highland Country Fellowship. She attended Bible study regularly. Evelyn was a bookkeeper for Lambert Landscape Company for 30 years until her retirement.Evelyn was organized, detailed, and always prepared for whatever was ahead.She was a woman of strength and character beyond measure.Evelyn had wonderful childhood memories and always felt loved. She had a keepsake saddle that she proudly showed family and friends and would share how she road to school and home every day on her pony.Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, and doting “MeMe” or grandmother. She always had candy jars with favorite treats for each grandchild inside. She enjoyed a good game of dominos and shared a love for polka dancing with her husband Bob. She made memories with her children and grandchildren on vacations and weekend trips.Holidays were especially important. Evelyn and Bob would cook for hours and loved to decorate their home for their family and many friends. No one ever left her home hungry. She loved to make sure you were well fed and happy. Many friends and neighbors recall how generous and kind Evelyn was. She had a way of inviting you in and when you left you always felt touched by her love.Evelyn is survived by her children, Darrell Lummus and his wife Carol, Michael Landwermeyer, Gregory Landwermeyer and his wife Paula, Debbie Strain and her husband Chuck, Brenda Boylan and her husband Christopher. Grandchildren Maria Lummus, April Jupiter and her husband Eric, Todd Landwermeyer and his wife Rhonda, Laurie Moore and her husband Seth, Nick Landwermeyer, Emilee Nichols and her husband Chris, Jonathan Strain and his wife Meagan, Whitney Landwermeyer, Kathryn Boylan, and Caroline Boylan. Great –grandchildren Courtney Smith, Jacob Markham, Katie Landwermeyer, Harper Landwermeyer, Hannah Nichols, Abigail Nichols, and her namesake “Evie” or Evelyn Strain. Great-great grandchild Conor Landwermeyer.Evelyn was a woman of God. She was looking forward to “sitting at the feet of her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ”. She wanted to be in His presence and in awe of His glory. We have lost a loving mom and MeMe but our Lord has gained an angel!We will forever love and cherish her memory.The family extends their appreciation for your prayers.Graveside service to celebrate Eliza Evelyn Landwermeyer’s life will be held the afternoon of Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 12:30 PM in the whispering waters garden at Restland Funeral Home. Eliza touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
