Elizabeth Emily Anderson's Obituary
Elizabeth Emily Whitman Anderson passed away peacefully on August 5, 2019.Elizabeth was born on August 9, 1939 in Stamford, Connecticut to the late Stewart and Julie Whitman. Her family moved to Dallas when she was young. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1957; earned an Associate in Arts Degree from Stephen’s College in Columbus, Missouri, in 1959; and attended the University of Texas at Austin in 1960-61. She married Gerald Anderson in 1961 and spent the next 20 years raising three children, before working as a mortgage loan processor for several banks in Dallas.Elizabeth was a selfless person who always put her family first, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved animals and never turned away a cat or dog in need. She also had a keen interest in genealogy, and filled many notebooks with family stories, photos and mementos.She loved being a grandmother and spent time with her grandchildren whenever she could.Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gerald L. Anderson; her sister, Barbara Whitman Bottorff and her husband Bill; and her three children and five grandchildren: Susan Anderson and her son Seth McGuirt; Carol Anderson Kern, her husband, Greg, and children Kevin and Ryan; and Mark Anderson, his wife, Tonya, and children Reese and Taylor.Graveside service will be Friday, August 16, at 10:30 a.m., at Restland Memorial Park, followed immediately after by visitation with the family.In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the SPCA of Texas.
