Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Boswell Baskett's Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Boswell Baskett, age 90, of Wylie, Texas passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021 at Founders Nursing Home of Wylie. She was born on February 19, 1930 in Sour Lake, Texas to her parents: William Napoleon Boswell and Marion Frances Carroll Boswell. Betty was 4th in line of 8 children. She attended and graduated from Sour Lake High School. She married William (Bill) Carl Baskett in Sour Lake on August 22, 1948 and was married for 63 years before Bill's passing.
They had 4 children and were longtime residents of Garland, TX for 56 years and 17 years in Wylie, Texas. Betty was a proud mother and housewife for many years before working with GISD in food management; also secretary and personal assistant positions at several oil companies. She attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, square dancing, playing games, camping, bowling and most of all spending time with her beloved family.
Betty will be remembered lovingly by her surviving children: Son, Gary and his wife, Mary Kay; son, Jeff and his wife, Terri; daughter, Karen and her husband, Terry; 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William Carl (deceased 2011) and Charles Lynn (deceased 2016).
